Candice is an award winning artist that enjoys painting a variety of subjects. She likes to create colorful oil paintings with strong contrasts. Growing up in West Palm Beach, Florida, she has always been involved in art and was awarded her first ribbon from Norton Art Gallery in fifth grade for a poster she designed. She studied drawing and design at Pierce Jr. College in Southern California and fine art with Nathalie Salamone, owner and creator of "The Learning Tree" - a multi-media art school in Buffalo, New York. "I believe that we all have the ability to create beautiful pictures, and all we need is the desire to learn how. I enjoy natural things of the earth and find beauty in the most simple forms." CREATIVE ACRYLICS/MIXED MEDIA WITH CANDICE HOLECZKO
Explore the world of acrylic mediums. $15 for each 2-hr session plus supplies. Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. - Noon
Born in Chicago, artist Louise (Wackerie) Kaunzinger lived in Illinois for 44 years, and is now retired in Niceville, FL.
A self-taught artist, Lou has been drawing and painting since age 11. Her art background includes majoring in Art & Business, Harrison Commercial Art School, and influence from her father, who was a talented artist. "I started working with oils in my teens and have had several jobs working in lithography, silk screening, and watercolors" says Lou.
She taught watercolor classes at the Creative Senior Center in Ft. Walton Beach for several years and at the Marina in Bluewater Bay. She is presently a member of Local Color Artists Club and displays her work in local galleries and libraries.

BASIC DRAWING & PAINTING FOR CHILDREN ages 7-14 with Lori Phillips
Saturdays, 10 a.m. - Noon $20 plus supplies. Basic drawing is designed for children who are interested in developing basic drawing skills for both personal and classroom use. We will incorporate the Elements of Design: line, shape, form, value and texture. Watercolor will also be introduced.
CRAFTING WITH LAUREL ages 7-11 with Laurel Breaux
Some brand new classes, sure to delight the kids.
Mixed Media: Let's start with a ton of fun art supplies and see what we can make of it! Mix in some paint and a masterpiece is sure to be created. Students will be exposed to a variety of media, techniques and artists during this course.
Kids Clay Modeling: Time to get a little messy! In this course children will learn basic clay modeling techiniques with air-dry clay to create small sculptures. On our first session students will learn how to make their 2D drawings come to life in 3D clay sculptures. The second session will teach them basic painting skills to embellish their works.
Kids Pottery Clay: Kids will create models using pottery clay which will be fired then finished and painted in the next 2 sessions.
MOSAICS WITH KATHLEEN NEHUS
Kathleen Nehus has studied art and photography and has a B.S.E. in Electrical Engineering. She has been doing mosaic tile work on her own for about 10 years. She lives in Bluewater Bay with her husband Isaac and her two children Jacob and Madeline.
